Apparently the mirror doen't use healing breeze so you can use that as healing.
With my own mo/me i used the skills backfire, empathy, healing breeze and orison of healing. Got him killed in a couple of seconds. (use backfire before he does it)
I don't think you can beat him by just using smiting skills, cause he'll be using them 2

My m8 said he used scourge healing and always killed his mirror and did bonus. I havent tried it yet but I think that is also a good choice.

Or just throw on Retribution + Holy Wrath. Unless you have any runes youll die at the exact same time and still win, 50000 xp and all.

Retribution + healing breeze = victory for anyone with monk in their profession. Crank up smiting, healing at least 8, and enough points in your weapon's attribute (divine favor, sword, whatever) to use your weapon effectively.
Run Retribution when you get in from Augury, c + space when you get to the mesa to attack, healing breeze when needed. He will kill himself with a little help from your weapon.
Leave other skill slots blank or load it with "time wasters" or "harm yourself" skills for the doppleganger to use - not you.
Hmmm, I wonder if it will run out of AoE's now like other critters?

I just did it yesterday with Healing Breeze. The doppelganger does, in fact never use it. I just wanded him to death. If you want the bonus then this isn't the way to do it but hell... I've got 24 skill points now. Why would you need the bonus?

I did and it wasn't as quick as other options but just as sure. No healing spells other than Cont o'Purity I believe - the one that removes all enchantments from you and heals XX for each one.
Smack on your long lasting or perm enchantments before entering, enter, get close and then do the normal solo smiting excersize. True his smiting is higher and does a fair amout more dmg to you than yours does to him, but then you CoP to heal up and recycle the smiting enchants....viola, 1 dead dop.

You can use some great mesmer skill to your advantage... Bring a crappy enchant, never cast it, and shatter it over and over (or inspire it, or... whatever ).
And monks got a few hex, so shatter hex could work.
Dopple is really easy as a mesmer, or any mesmer secondary.
Louis,
